Bathtub scene

In the bathtub scene, Annie is in another one of her trancelike states and "sees" Jessica sitting in the tub. Jessica turned around to face her and said something to her, but I was so taken aback by her look that I didn't catch what she said. Can anyone help fill in that blank for me, please? Thanks in advance!

She says *beep* you! If you watch without the sound you can actually read her lips pretty well.

'I hate You!'

Good....I had the same question. In looking at the replies above, I think I would have told her if thats how she feels she can get out of my tub at any time....

It was just a sign, though oddly (and blatantly) executed. Why the choice of words is beyond me but she understood it was a sign the killer was still out there. I do recall the first time the F word was mentioned was near the beginning when her son asked her what the word meant. I thought it odd Annie never asked the son where he heard that from (school probably) but still would have been a natural response. I guess the F word was a big part to this movie since that was the catalyst.

Sorry, finding the trailer, I could identify the scene with Greg (the killer) and Katie (the vic). There was a crayon rolling down from the table to the floor. And Annie just has knew it. This has relevance but seeing the movie twice... even if the scene was odd and hard to swallow, as the whole atmosphere of the entire movie. So, I reply myself.. it was not "pour l'amour de l'art", but for the flow of the movie... Yes, maybe Thornton and Raimi joined to do art and movie all-together.

I always thought she said "find the killer."

Yeap... she has said the word one could never want to hear from a medium point of view. My question is not that, but why Jessica wanted Annie scared. In fact, Annie has been the only one fighting for young Jessica. Perhaps from the writer's twisted point of view, there are two options: 1.to show her hate towards the fact that she had has been killed. 2.moreover, the writer and director had used that to enhance the brutal plot, just for... what I have called white&black atmosphere, just "pour l’amour de l’art".

That's why humans love art. A piece of art was in this movie.

In the closed caption version, she says "F You" and has hate in her eyes. I think she was mad at Annie because she didn't finger Wayne as the murderer and also because a relationship was starting between Annie and Wayne.

Billy Bob wrote this. There has to be a FU in the script someplace.

reply

I was watching it with subtitles; she said "F-you". Which doesn't really make sense, I am not sure why since Annie is only trying to help.

reply

I wondered that too but can only speculate Jessica being angry that Annie never warned her about her impending death when Jessica and Wayne both saw Annie where he s in a kind of trance in
the scene at school in Wayne's office or i noted that when Annie finds out the killer was Wayne -u see
Jessica saying f$&k u to Wayne

reply

Good incite, that makes more sense then implying that she got the wrong guy.

reply

I thought it was just a reflection of what she said to Wayne, not that she was directing it towards Annie.

Hmmm... Like you end up repeating your famous last words for a while after you die? That idea kinda intrigues me.
