Any news about a DVD?

I am an Americn, but I take great pride in the fact that my earliest ancestors came here fron Ipswich circa 1630. I am quite am proud of me Engish roots.

As such I have always been very interested in the story of Mallory and Irvine. I have read of this film, seen bits and pieces of it, and understand that it has been restored. Are there plans to release it to the general public via DVD? I would pay a pretty penny to see it? Granted, the ending will ALWAYS be sad, but these wonderful men (and not just the ones who died,) deserve to have this movie released to wider audiences.

When one considers the great odds they faced, and the fact that they believed in their abilities to reach th summit and return successfully, certainly their great faith played a part. What a story of inspiration! Please, please, issue it soon in DVD!

The film is being released as a dual format DVD/Blu-Ray on 20/1/2014. This is the UK release. Whether it will be released in the US at the same time is another question. But it will be available from Amazon UK. I saw it on the big screen and the restoration by the BFI is superb with a score specially composed.

Ordered my copy from Amazon UK today. Can hardly wait for the end of January. This is the first time I have ordered an item over the Internet from Britain, was pleased to see that I wasn't charged for VAT, of which it seems my UK friends are always complaining.
