I'm sorry, I caught this on TV but had to go to class a little over an hour into it.
Last thing I saw was Lucy (Anne Heche) admitting to John (Jeff Goldblum) that she was previously married. Can someone summarize how the movie ended, or should I just rent it? Thanks so much.
there were quite a few complicated incidents that followed, so I definitely suggest you rent it.
Good movie, worth another look.
I'll summarise it for you. I've just bought a new computer keyboard so it'll give me a good opportunity to take it for a test-drive.
After 'Lucy' confesses to having been married 'Auggie/John' spontaneously combusts and burns the hotel down, killing everyone. The fire spreads to the rest of the city and the film essentially becomes a fire-fighting movie, focusing on fire-fighting procedures and strategems. It was very informative.
It was also quite the unexpected twist. I'm like a pair of binoculars when it comes to plot twists, I can spot 'em a mile away, but even I didn't see this one coming. Of course, it completely ruined the film. It was disjointed and out of context, almost as if they stuck two movies together. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of a film stock mix-up during editing.
