tom's ever-changing attire

i noted in the comments that a lot of people either were confused by what it meant or condemned the filmmakers for outstanding errors in continuity. i just thought it was pretty obvious in symbolizing tom's struggle to grasp a sense of his being and self. i guess the stress of the contest combined with the note brad gave him at the outset of the day sparked the beginning phase of what would become his spiraling loss of identity.

i thinkits just a movie for stoners... like in half baked, where the room changes in different parts..

I was at a screening of this movie where the director spoke afterwards and he said that it is a deliberate thing that Tom's clothes change throughout (this is true for most of the characters, not just Tom.) This adds to the confused state of mind of all of the characters, it's not sloppiness at all.

Yes, Sandra's sweater keeps changing colour as well.

Yes, and at the end of the movie, where Tom's finally outdoors, the colour and texture of the film (I don't know the technical term for what I'm describing) is clearer and crisper, less distorted. You can actually SEE that he's outside, breathing in fresh air for the first time in 24 days.
