I missed the most important phrase said

the scence where the girl with braids says somthing to Tom and then they show the building going up what was it ahe said?

reply

I think it's something like: Lifts don't work, electric's out etc. That has to have something with that cable-pipe Tom's trip.

reply

Actually, the most important phrase said was "You know, I actually read somewhere that infidelity was healthy for relationships."

reply

really? why is that important?

Juliet Stoker: You look pale.
Mort: Yeah, thank you.

reply

I thought the note from Bradley was the most important single comment made... This was such a great film, it just made me even more in love with Canada.

Fab Filippo, Caroline Dhavernas, Katherine Isabel... that country seems to produce beautiful people, and with its beautiful countryside, cute accents and being bilingual, it's such a pity they insist on continuing with their seal clubbing, otherwise it would be perfect!

No, "that just screams" a woman with an opinion. The fact that you felt the need to cqall me a bitch for that actually speaks volumes about you.

reply

I'd really like to see an argument for abolishing the seal hunt beyond "seals are fluffy and cute, don't kill them".

reply

How about the sadistic and prolonged cruelty which so shames the country they try to stop people seeing what happens.

And another argument of course is that it is totally unnecessary in a world such as ours with so many different materials we can wear. Why perform animal cruelty if it's not even necessary?

There is no reason to do that.

reply

Um, what? Yes, the seal hunt results in dead seals. It's not a Disney movie. Neither is life. There's no evidence to suggest that it's any more cruel to kill seals than to drive down highways, which also results in lots of dead animals.

>>>And another argument of course is that it is totally unnecessary in a world such as ours with so many different materials we can wear. Why perform animal cruelty if it's not even necessary?<<<
Please tell the people whose livelihood depends on the seal hunt that it's completely unnecessary. Many of them are people struggling to preserve their way of life and prevent their communities from dying a slow, painful death due to economic starvation. Personally, I tend to think that people are more important than seals, however cute.

reply

Eh, I guess there's just no getting throught to some people... Of course there is a MASSIVE difference between roadkill and seal clubbing, but if you can't see that, then maybe you also think that the sky is coloured fluorescent pink and birds roar and water is dry... perhaps you believe what you want to believe, and to hell with reality. :(

My response above still holds true. All you've added is a buch of *guesses* as to my lifestyle or politico-cultural state... and a bunch of mindless abuse.

My original post was about how much I love Canada (perhaps fetishise it would be an even more accurate way to describe how much I love Canada), with that one, horrific bloody exception to an otherwise beautiful country... and as it happens, plenty of CANADIANS also agree with what I have said. I didn't deserve your nasty, hateful comments and stereotypical guesses as to what I am like, and frankly I'm not continuing this thread any longer.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you will insist on having the last word, but I'll not read anymore.

Adios, it has not been a pleasure!

I'm about a year late but if you say you love Canada except for the "seal clubbing" shows how little you know about Canada. We differ very little cuturally from Americans, the majority of us don't have any accent, I missed a bit of the beginning of this movie and I had no idea it took place in Calgary let alone Canada.
There's plenty of actual Canadians who whole heartedly disagree with you. Seal fishing has been a part of Newfoundland for centuries, it's important for their economy and the income of fisherman. It does not make an impact on the seal population and it's done humanely, no different than any other non-cuddly animal killed to keep you alive. What you've been hearing is propaganda fueled by celebrities who have nothing better to do in their life so they bitch and complain. Don't talk about changing other people's opinion if you can't even bother to get your facts straight.

reply

Eh, I don't think there's even one single thing in that post that I can agree with.

Have a nice life anyway.

Typical ignorant poster. It took you 3 years to come up with that retort? There's nothing to agree with in my post, it's fact.

reply

No, I just happened upon here after this time because I rewatched the film.

You're the ignorant one since you think there is no difference between the US and Canada.

I've also clicked on your posting history, and it seems that you like to log into this site and be rude to other posters for no damn reason, so get lost and stop posting to me.

I hope I never have the displeasure of coming across you on this site ever again.

Yes and you bothered bring it up again, that makes you no better. I am not mean to other posters, it seems that ignorant posters like you think that they're always right and I have to tell them otherwise.

I've also clicked on your posting history, and it seems that you've never had an intelligent post in your life. So please stop posting ever, and don't bother wasting everyone's time and forum space.

Really now who's being mean and rude, Take one good look in the mirror troll and you'll see that everything you just said fits you perfectly. You are the one who started the unnecessary unhelpful posts in this thread, I just responded with facts and you decided to do what you do best, post something unintelligent and entirely unhelpful to the thread. It's not the first time in this thread even.

Please if you're going to say no more interaction actually follow through with it, or are you incapable of doing that as well as intelligent thought.

reply

Please go away and stop bothering me. I've got better things to do than feed a troll like you.

As for how you got my previous post deleted by an administrator, that boggles belief, as I have been behaving civily while pointing out your rudeness and incivility. No matter, let's both leave it be. Life is far too short for this waste of my time.

Wow you really aren't capable are you.

I'm not near you so I can't go away. If you don't like what I post DON'T post a reply it's as simple as that, please be capable of understanding at least that. I like your posts they're funny, I laugh myself to sleep on how silly they are. I mean what kind of person tells other people they're rude and mean but does it in a rude and mean manner. What kind of person doesn't want any interaction but keeps interacting to tell people so.
