I think it may have been released in theaters in Europe. I'm not sure if that means we'll ever get to see it in the U.S.

never a good sign - shelving this long - this must suck! i so want an awesome sequel to "talented" wether it be with damen or not. i know that many actors have played this role before, but I DO want a "sort of" sequel to the "talented" version. You know what - it would be sick to have Hopper play ripley again- i mean, his role in wender's "american friend", it would be soooo awsome to have hime play this character again
I don't think it's necessarily the quality of the film that prevents a DVD release. Maybe it has something to do with distribution problems and licensing. I would like to see this anyway. I've seen the rest of the Ripley films, including Plein Soleil, except for An American Friend.
