When I read that the title character's crime in RIPLEY UNDER GROUND would involve accomplices, I thought it would be out of character... but I had to give it a chance. It turns out that these accomplices don’t know how far he’s willing to go. Therefore, the movie could’ve worked if they hadn’t been such unrealistic cartoons. They ruin the suspenseful atmosphere. That being said, this is still closer to the 1st movie than the previous installment in terms of plot, tone and characterization. Even if I don't compare him to his 2 predecessors, Barry Pepper’s performance doesn't stand out (positively or negatively). When it was revealed that HÉLOÏSE PLISSON had moved the body, I thought "Are you kidding me?!" but, looking back, it made sense. At first, her games with RIPLEY were just flirting but, at one point, they started to feel like manipulation. That’s because she is manipulative... and crazy... like him. They’re a match made in Hell!

Cuando leí que el crimen del personaje titular en MR. RIPLEY: EL REGRESO involucraría cómplices, pensé que iría contra el personaje... pero tenía que darle una oportunidad. Resulta que estos cómplices no saben qué tan lejos él está dispuesto a ir. Por lo tanto, la película podría haber funcionado si ellos no hubieran sido tales caricaturas. Ellos arruinan la atmósfera llena de suspenso. Habiendo dicho eso, esta igual se acerca más a la 1ra película que la entrega anterior en términos de trama, tono y caracterización. Incluso si no la comparo a sus 2 predecesores, la actuación de Barry Pepper no se destaca (positiva ni negativamente). Cuando se reveló que HÉLOÏSE PLISSON había movido el cuerpo, pensé «¡¿Es broma?!» pero, mirando hacia atrás, tenía sentido. Al principio, sus juegos con RIPLEY eran solo coqueteo pero, en cierto momento, empezaron a sentirse como una manipulación. Eso es porque ella es manipuladora... y está loca... como él. ¡Están hechos el uno para el otro!

Quando ho letto che il crimine del personaggio titolare in IL RITORNO DI MR. RIPLEY includerebbe complici, ho pensato che andrebbe contro al personaggio... ma dovevo dargli un'opportunità. A quanto pare, questi complici non sanno fino a che punto è disposto andare. Pertanto, il film potrebbe aver funzionato se loro non sarebbero stati così caricature. Loro rovinano l'atmosfera piena di suspense. Detto questo, questo ancora si avvicina più al 1mo film che la puntata scorsa in termini di trama, tono e caratterizzazione. Anche se non la comparo con i suoi 2 predecessori, la recitazione di Barry Pepper no risalta (positivamente né negativamente). Quando si è rivelato che HÉLOÏSE PLISSON aveva mosso el corpo, ho pensato «È uno scherzo?!» ma, ripensando, aveva senso. All'inizio, i suoi giocchi con RIPLEY erano solo flirt ma, in certo momento, hanno cominciato a sentirsi come un raggiro. La raggione è che lei è manipolatoria... ed è pazza... come lui. Fanno una buona coppia!
