Where can I buy it?

Does anybody know where I can by TLJ?
Is there a version of it that works on Windows 2000?
Preferrably with Norwegian voices..

At a store? I don't know, unless there's some used game stores near you. Online, lots of places like the original website. :) http://www.longestjourney.com/ Or Ebay. Dunno about Norwegian voices, you could probably ask them, though. The specs (http://www.longestjourney.com/help/specs/) say it works with Win2k.

Duey

p.s. It's really weird that you posted your message the same day I decided to look at the forum. I just watched a trailer for the Doom movie, went to that forum on imdb and saw a thread about other games people thought would make a good movie. I almost instantly thought of TLJ, but someone had already posted about it. I then wandered over here and saw your post. :)

reply

Hmm.. weird about the specs, because when me and a friend got Win2000 (some years ago, obviously) The Longest Journey didn't work. But I'll try Ebay! Haven't thought of that.. weird :/

Hehe. Good coincedence :)

(Sorry about my weird English)

EBAY!

I don't know where you live, but Target has it for ten dollars here in lovely Ohio. Also, Amazon would probably be a little less trouble than Ebay. . . I know they have it.

They have doctors for this sort of thing!

reply

"Lovely" Ohio is a bit far from where I live (Norway) ;)

$10?? Holy... That's crazy, that is. A shame I live live just a bit too far away... Mind you, I have the original release in Norwegian, but it doesn't work on Windows XP I think they made a newer release where they fixed it, though.

Oooh, can't wait for Dreamfall now! Should be out in the next couple of months! *bouncing*

I just found mine at a Target for $2.50 on clearance. I've seen it multiple times in the "bargain software" section of places like Best Buy and Target. I found it weird the sequel is coming out less than two months after I found out about the first game.

The original (4 CD) game works without a problem on Windows XP if you set "Windows 98 / ME" mode on the Compatibility tab of the application (.exe) file's property page (and also tick "Disable visual themes" if needed).

The new (2 CD) version doesn't need any compatibility settings, it runs instantly when you execute it.

There is a new special German version out there, released on a DVD instead of CDs. That version supports FSAA (Full Scene Anti-Aliasing) natively (although both previous, released-on-CD versions are able to work with FSAA if you set it manually in the GPU's driver settings).

I think they released a second version that is compatible (?) with the newer versions of Windows. As for where to get it, I don't know, but I see some other people have already made suggestions there ^^

Haha, I just looked at the date of your post. There's probably no point in me writing this, then XD

Amazon has the single disc DVD ROM version for only $9.99, that's where I got mine from just last week.

Amazing game BTW

the official site of this game sells the game that perfectly works on windows XP, https://funcom.asknet.com/cgi-bin/show/P13386

Also there is a patch that is needed so that the game doesn't crash at the police station:

I actually bought the game from the official website and it works perfectly well in Windows XP Service Pack 2 and all up to date with drivers and all.

You can also get it off of Steam for $9.95. No idea if they have it in Norwegion though.

If you are still looking for it:

Since it is a Norwegian site it should be the Norwegian release.

well this is an old thread but for those who might come to the boards and wonder in the future you can buy it from good old games completely DRM free for 9.99. thats how i bought it.
