This film occupies a very special place in my heart.

I saw this movie when it came out in the theater, with my ex girlfriend. We were 18 at the time, and she was my first love. I remember feeling content, and clear in that moment. I truly loved her. About 2 years later, we lost each other, and a couple years after that, she found someone else, and started a family of her own.

I now find myself, somewhat in the shoes of Jack Campbell's corporate character. Working in a profession that I've been chasing my whole life, and it cost me everything to get here. And by everything, I mean the second love of my life. My dedication to this business, took myself away from her, resulting in another demise of love. And truth be told, I knew I was doing it. But I chose to pursue my "dream", and now that I have it, I realize that sense of ultimate gratification and contentment through "work", doesn't exist.

Through loss, I have learned the ultimate lesson, and found the true holy grail of life And that is ones close relationships with people. I didn't ultimately understand the message of this film at the time... But unfortunately, now I do. And it's a very true one.
