Just saw Season 3

I had learned 5 years ago there was actually a Season 3 but only ever got the chance to see it just now.


IMO, the way the series ended in America was perfect. There shouldn't have been a season 3. Holly's father's fate being unresolved at the end of season 2 was fine with me. Life ends on unresolved stories. I liked that there wasn't a happy ending for Holly's father. At least if we don't factor in season 3. I think season 3 was basically created just to resolve that dangling plot thread. If they really wanted to resolve the fate of Holly's father, they could have just as easily have done it in the finale to season 2 and ended the series on that note.


Season 3 shouldn't have happened. At the end of season 2, Moo was defeated and Genki returned home. He got to see his friends one more time and they told him they'd always be with him in spirit even if they couldn't be with him in form. I liked that season 2 finale so much. I just kind of find season 3 to be a slap to the face in how well the series appeared to end at the end of season 2.


Monster Rancher and Scrubs met a similar fate. The way season 8 ended was a perfect wrap to the series. There was no need for Med School. Yet, they made it, anyway. And Med School was left completely unresolved. It sort of ruined how well the series should have ended.
