Correctional devices

As an avid horror fan, when I watched the episode " I Stand Corrected" I couldn't help but think that even though I enjoyed it for a cartoon, the idea can actually be successfully employed for a horror movie or a Tales from the darkside episode. I mean it was totally eerie, devices to correct strange & extremely bizzare physical deformities/mutations, someones jaw stretching about 10 feet, hands & legs coming out of one's nose etc.

Am I the only one crazy enough to think that the idea was fascinating? Are there any horror movies/tv shows in which the same has been used?
