SO SAD

I loved the relationship between young Sam and his little girlfriend Sosa. It was so sad at the end when you realize that while Sam has made it to the safety of England Sosa is trapped and lost in the Holocaust.

Btw, for a somewhat similar film about the destruction of a a refined Jewish family by the Nazis see "The Sky Is Falling" {2000} set in Italy. It too is based on a true story.

I did not think this was a great film ... but the scene in the train station where Sam ans Sosha say goodby choked me up.

Let me add to your tip about films that discussed the destruction of Jewish families at the hands of Nazis. The best I have seen is Sunshine. Notice it has a 7.5 rating.
