Theatrical ending vs. DVD ending

HELP! I saw this film in theatres and loved it, particularly for the ending. But the ending on the DVD is NOT the one I saw on the big screen! Does anyone remember how it went down at the cinema?

I didn't like any of the endings. Not a single one of the four endings I saw in the one version on DVD. The Jacob's Ladder rip-off, the thugs still being around afterward to choke her to death or her waking up in bed next to her boyfriend "it was all a dream". It was all BS. What's the point of an entire movie turning out to be fantasy? Its on my TV, I know its a fantasy and for it to be a fantasy when its already a fantasy, the entire story might as well have been merely mentioned. If it was a dream, then nothing happened, if nothing happened, then no one changed, no one progressed. NOTHING HAPPENED, save for a neat image of a girl's shaved head being drilled and releasing a load of blood. That was cool and unsual, but the rest of this movie was drawn out and....bah, I could go on. I won't. Who cares anyway.

Why was there two different endings anyways?

I think it was cut out then or so. Because the version i have seen, have all that combined in the end off the movie. So maybe it was just dream after the accident. Anyway, this movie was so confusing that i didnĀ“t got anything out of it. Just headless running around.

I've only seen this on DVD - the Killer cut or whatever - but there's a scene in the deleted scenes where Sagemuller and Affleck visit the grave of Dushku and Bentley and then walk off together down the long road from the cemetary - kinda like the ending of The Third Man but not as good. Anyway, that scene sure looks like it was intended to be a final scene.

Go to this link, it explains the comparisons between the Rated R version and the PG-13 version which is the theater version http://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=904394

The theater ending has Cassie lying in the hospital. Her parents and Sean are there, too. Cassie is glad to see Sean again, they start talking about how Cassie has been in a coma
