Michael Gambon as Lyndon Johnson

How did you find Gambon as Lyndon Johnson ? I think he shouted a little bit too much. But maybe privately Johnson was like that. Otherwise I think his performance was suberp.

As you suggested, merdiolu, LBJ did indeed yell a lot (and curse, and use the bathroom in full view of others). Scholarly historians more or less agree that the American public never knew LBJ well. He misled voters by affecting a courtliness in public, but in the presence of friends and close acquaintances, he revealed a shocking earthiness. Gambon nailed the character with the help of a superbly written script, despite lacking a Texas accent. I loved this film.

His other gangster is Eddie Temple in Layer Cake, highly recommended.

Marlon, Claudia and Dimby the cats 1989-2005, 2007 and 2010.

The acting is great but that accent needed work.
