The Melted Gold (spoiler)

At the end from when Dillon burnt his town down there was his melted gold in the burned bank. Wouldn't that gold then be Hopes? After all she was his daughter. I don't get that. She had nothing and if i had been her i would have got a riffle and told them men to back off.
