THOSE CHEATERS WERE RIGHT, in some ways.

I would say that cheating is wrong unless if you're doing it for a very good reason. They had a good reason for doing it. Their school wasn't the greatest school ever, nor did they have the greatest teachers or teaching materials to be successful. Steinmetz doesn't have to be that perfect, but seriously, how bad can a school become. I go to this college in California and I have to say that even though I didn't expect a whole lot out of this college, I didn't think the teachers were going to be this bad. Some professors I had so far are some of the worst teachers I have ever witnessed and I'm still only a 1st year student. People always say that academics is more important than sports or physical activity. THAT"S BULLSH*T. How can students be successful if they don't even have good professors to learn from? If people say that "oh in college you should be more reliable on yourself when learning." If that's the case, then WHY THE HECK DO WE HAVE PROFESSORS? I know schools are suffering from the economic budget, but seriously, what they need to do is evaluate professors more. I mean where did these professors get these teaching degrees? If you say that "oh you obviously didn't try hard enough in high school and you ended up in this crappy college," then what I have to say is that some students are at a mental disadvantage than others. Not all students are able to achieve as much as students in Harvard, Standford, or even a UC.
Just like in the movie, people don't expect you to achieve greatness if you come from a bad high school or college. But what they should say is that "why isn't that school so good. How do we get it to become better."

Sorry I dont feel they were right to cheat, at all.

First of all, it isn't fair to the others who are competing. Other students worked hard to study to win the event, is it fair that they lost not because others worked harder, but just had the answers and cheated?

Also, a teacher is not just supposed to help students learn, but also provide moral guidance. If you're a teacher, convincing your students to cheat, that's going to screw with their moral compass. As a teacher, you're supposed to instill integrity in your students, not encourage them to screw around and lie about it when caught.

And ultimately, cheating ends up hurting most people that do it. It's like taking drugs, maybe feels good at first, but you end up in the gutter. When I was in college, in one class, about half the students were copying the answers one student was providing- guess what, they all got caught and I'm glad I wasnt one of them. It's wrong to lead someone on the track of cheating, it's a dangerous track to be on.

Believe it's like what Dr. Plecki said in the movie, it's only right to do it and not get caught if you know how to play the system, or something like that. If you know how to play the system, you can get away with a lot of stuff. It will be pretty difficult but its possible. Do you really think a student studying like fashion gives a crap about a calculus class? NO, unless that student likes calculus and minoring in it or something. If they have the opportunity to get away with cheating, they will do it.
