Any update on Jake?

Seeing Jake the Snake like that was a shock. He should go into movies that require a 'down on his luck' character, ala Bruce Willis in 'The Last Boy Scout'.

Anyone know what he's up to now?

He's a legend.

Wow. That's actually pretty cool. I wonder if he uses fishing as a replacement for his addictions like Alice Cooper uses golf as a replacement for his.

reply

Don't let any of this fool you. Jake still wrestles on the Indy Circuit and I'm not going to say to much but he still has "demons". It's actually a sad story.

I listened to an interview with him shortly after reading about his fishing career, and he is as dark as ever. Even referring to Charles Manson as his hero, Jake is the most honest guy ever to step in the ring. And I'm sure he'll take his demons to his grave.

That link doesnt work anymore, can anyone give a quick rundown? Hes a fisherman now/

i read he signed with TNA ...

not true, he was going to manage bobby roode, but they dont think that would be to great. until he comes up with a better idea they wont use him.

was his whole christian thing a storyline or was that real and he just couldn't get away from his demons. i was really cheering for him, but seeing him in the shape he was in beyond the mat and the part where he was passed out in his hotel room made me feel that the whole thing was just a work.

"was his whole christian thing a storyline or was that real and he just couldn't get away from his demons."

The storyline was very much real. Jake did for a while become a born again Christian and give up drinking and the drugs but unfortunately, it didn't last.

For those to look see a follow-up on Jake, you may want to check out the WWE-released documentary from a couple years ago. There's some real interesting stuff in there as he goes further into many of the stories he spoke about in "Beyond The Mat" and even gives his opinion on how he was portrayed in the movie.

What's funny is that he pitched a storyline to TNA in which he helps a fan recover from a drug addiction.

Isn't it ironic?

Don't you think?

reply

A little too ironic.

Thanks for your posts guys/gals.

Dont think there were any plans for him to manage Roode.

I did hear about the fan recovery thing though.

He has also been bringing Sinn to TNA shows with him. He wants to come in and manage Sinn. For those of you who dont know...Sinn was formerly in TNA as The New Church with Slash and Brian Lee. Vampiro might have been in there too. I think they were managed by James Mitchell, who now manages Abyss.

I hear they have plans on using Jake in some capacity after the first of the year. I hope everything works out for him.

Wow this is an old thread to respond to, but Sinn replaced Brian Lee in the New Church. For a long time it was Slash & Lee managed by Father Mitchell with occasional help from Malice (AKA The Wall in WCW) until he ODed. In later years they cut Lee, added Sinn and teamed up with "Franchise" Shane Douglas and Vampiro (briefly) fueding against Raven and The Gathering (his newest Flock).
