Depiction of Jack the Snake

What these film makers did was despicable. I know they were trying to prove a point and show a certain path but they made him look worse than he was at the time and by extension when he saw it he got even deeper into depression and alcohol.

Mick Foley is totally glorified as a model husband and father yet the documentary vilifies Jake Roberts as a deadbeat dad [arrested for failure to pay child support] who neglects his parental responsibilities because he'd rather smoke crack.

Doesn't seem skewed.

I remember Jake Roberts said in his Pick Your Poison DVD that when he was first approached to participate in Beyond the Mat, he was led under the assumption that it was going to be a television documentary that was designed to steer children away from drugs. He added that he was brought into the project by "good friends" before saying that Terry Funk in particular, served him up a plater.

Jake by his own admission however, claims that he never actually seen the finished product but he already knew that something was fishy when he wasn't invited to the premiere.

Jake Roberts lie I said, by his own admission, has never actually seen the movie in full:

This is why I don't completely understand his issues with his depiction in it. I mean wasn't it for one thing, true that Jake was addicted to crack cocaine at one point in his life, particularly when Beyond the Mat was filmed?

I'm assuming that Jake is suggesting that a lot of what was shot of him and edited into the finished product was taken out of context or had its context changed to fit the film's narrative intent. But again, Jake claims that he has never actually seen Beyond the Mat, so why should we take his word for it in regards to his portrayal in that movie being a complete fabrication of the facts?.
