What the **** were they (the producers) thinking? Oon's first/original voice was spot-on perfect. Just how you'd expect him to sound like.
The second voice however... It really makes me want to throw something at the screen every time I hear it...
Yeah, always thought that was odd. I definitely prefer the first voice as well, but don't MIND the second one (well, not much). I've just always wondered why they decided to change it part way into the series...

It's like he went through puberty right after the 1st episode... lol...
I just started making my way through the series and I watched episodes 1 & 2 back-to-back and it was pretty jarring. To be honest I preferred the second voice. The one from the pilot episode sounded very Orko from Masters of the Universe.

Watching this on YouTube and Oon's voice switches between the two through the episodes. I don't know why his voice isn't consistent. I like the first "cuter" voice, the other one not so much. It's sometimes OK, but it makes him sound more annoying than I think he should.
