Rip-Off

Don't get me wrong, I used to like this movie when it first came out.
Then I saw the 80s horror classic Night of the Demons, which by the way is a great movie, and to me it seems like they copied from Night of the Demons

That was their goal, actually.

The director, David DeCoateau, is a fan of the Night of the Demons trilogy (which I also love by the way), and he's friends with Walter Josten and Jeff Geoffrey (the producers of the NOTD series) so he made Witchouse as sort of an audition hoping that they would let him direct NOTD 4. Although they didn't hire him, they were impressed given the circumstances it was made under and he enjoyed it nonetheless.

A fourth was never made anyway. Judging from the work he does these days, Dave only would've ruined it anyway.

"Witchouse" was homage to "Night Of The Demons". DeCoteau never "auditioned" anything to direct a "Demons 4"!
