My life goal is to bench press 350 lbs

Just cuz of this movie. I want dat superhuman strength.

I know he does 500 lbs in a deleted scene but 350 lbs seems like a goal I could actually reach.

Get a trainer and be careful

My friend did it the wrong way and ended up having back surgery

reply

Dunn approved.

I can sorta relate. The scene is rather inspiring. Powers, baby!

reply

Nothing superhuman about 350. That's what's so nice about the scene - it keeps the question open. It's a lot of weight but nothing extraordinary.

reply

Benching 350 is extraordinary. In all my years at the gym I would rarely see people benching 315.

reply

Yeah. To someone like myself, who maxes out at 170, Dunn being able to bench that much is for sure eye-catching.

And let's not forget that David Dunn is a middle-aged everyman, just working his job and raising his kid and getting some reps in down in the basement, and not a dedicated powerlifter in the prime of his life. While it's certainly not humanly impossible for someone in that position to bench 350, it's also certainly very uncommon. The fact that he can do it does signify something rather remarkable.

reply

Odd. I see it at my gym most every day. I maxed out at 365 a long time ago. I wouldn't try anything near that today, but I'm old and badly injured.

reply

I'll bet you never saw a guy bench 350 that looks like Bruce Willis looks in this.
