Does anyone think his films have gone down hill? I think Goodbye charlie bright is a real gem and very underated, byt The football factory films since then, while being entertaing, just havent had the lasting impact on me that this has. Anyone feel the same?
shareThis movie died on release. The distributor was going bust at the time. I agree it's majorly underated. It is sincere and a homage rather than a steal. His more successful next 3 films were more escapist and involved some wholesale theft from better films. His next films weren't from the heart probably, more just for entertainment. Charlie B is clearly based on Love, like the main character in the Firm probably is.
