Ok in this movie Frankie (Mischa Barton) says her parents died in a car crash when she was 4. The date of her mother's death on the front of the magazine says she died in 1988, making Frankie born in 1984. The film was made in 2000 so Frankie would be 16, however Hazel later says they are 13. Is it just me or does this not add up?

shareSure, the movie was released in 2000, but that does not mean you use that year for figuring out anything related to the story! The actor(ess)'s real age does not really have too much to do with the story, either, though of course if they mis-cast & that's part of the miscasting, then some people will have issue with that.
