If only the filmmakers had listened to DDP's suggestion...

From the trivia,

According to an interview he did with YouShoot in 2013, Diamond Dallas Page said that he pitched an alternate ending for the film to Warner Bros. What would have happened was that after the triple cage match is over, and the end credits are just starting to roll, Jimmy King tells Gordie and Sean that he will see them at the bar, before heading back to his dressing room to get changed, only to see DDP waiting for him. Just as the two wrestlers look like they are going to fight again, they actually hug each other, with DDP forgiving King for throwing him through all three cages. Then, Sean and Gordie enter the dressing room and are shocked to discover that King and DDP are friends. DDP then walks up to the two and says "Boys, welcome to the business. Let's go have a drink!" which helps puts all their differences aside.

If they had gone more into this direction this movie could've worked and might've helped save WCW, instead they went in the direction it actually took and took a big dump.

Not a bad idea.

That sounds terrible. Talk about anticlimactic.

Realism has no place in comedies.

This movie had nothing to do with ending WCW..and there was nothing this movie could have done that would have helped save it. It's a damn good movie in its own right and to this day one of my favorites.

I find this in the league of classic comedies like Men At Work or Mousehunt... the films you could watch over and over again. Considering how IMDb rates such films low, it's a challenge to discover similar small films, since they can be easily lost among so many less enjoyable comedies.
