Henriette how old is she suppose to be?

I don't know but she looked at least 20 years too old for the role. It was ridiculous seeing middle-aged Vanessa Williams trying to play a sweet young coquette.

I'd have to agree. The whole movie I was comparing her face to all the other actresses that were suppose to be the same age as her. I kept wondering "why does she look so much older?"

The real Henriette Delille was 16 when the events in the movie took place.

What a blatant inaccuracy, but since Williams was the producer, she could do whatever she wanted.

Vanessa was only in her late 30's, however she does look a lot older than she is even now. I'm watching it on Netflix.. I saw it once before 4 or 5 years ago on regular TV during the wee hours of the night. Much like Jasmine Guy...she is just older looking.
