It doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the movie in my opinion. it started off well with Bill being a badass. then all of a sudden we get that slow/fast mo blur thing. it then hits peak bad filmmaking when we get an over head shot with one of the guys being killed wide eyed and sticking out his tongue.. I honestly dont get what Scorsese was thinking? lonely it seems so out of place not only for the film but his movie making style.

especially given the constant use of seemingly period appropriate Irish music and songs..
it wasnt even like building up to an epic showdown with bill and Amsterdams dad.. it was just these random fight scene shots with terrible music then all of a sudden he was dead..
what was Scorsese thinking?
The song is by Peter Gabriel, who also composed The Last Temptation of Christ. One of the best film scores ever made.
