Starcraft or Warcraft 3?

Which do you prefer? Both are great games! But I pick Starcraft.

StarCraft, not even a question.

WarCraft 3 has a slower pace, awful, cartoony graphics, an inferior, cliche storyline, and to top it all off, the gameplay itself sucks... Having to deal with leveling those idiotic hero units if you want to make any progress... Getting cheated out of resources the bigger your army gets... Practically the only thing the game has going for it was that you could stick more units in a single group, and that didn't actually mean much since you couldn't have as many units.

Whereas StarCraft... Is StarCraft. =) Fun, fast, simple in concept and complicated in practice, and with a half-way decent storyline to boot.

It's like comparing chess to some Milton-Bradley style children's game.

Haha. That's true. If the storyline for Warcraft were taken seriously, I would imagine the visuals to be... grittier. As well as beautfiul to look at. I say grittier because, by the end of it, you've got betrayal and the evil powers (cliche much?) rising up. Not exactly happy things to think about.

Now, with Starcraft, everything looks so dark and gloomy... gritty and depressing. I love it! Starcraft's storyline is still about betrayal... and a lot of more richer plot than Warcraft's. But undoubtedly darker. Even in Brood War, where the end is all about defeat and loss. Seeing the UED getting mauled by the Swarm and the Admiral committing suicide was not a happy ending. I love the dark atmosphere-- I don't care if they made Ghost look that way.

Plus, I hate how Warcraft is about offense most of the time. With Starcraft, it's a lot of balancing your positions of offense units, and defense points. There's so much strategy involved.
