Basic rule............... ....Read


This i have found out after MANY MANY hours of playing starcraft against both computers and People:

Zerg beat Terran
Terran beat Protoss
Protoss beat Zerg

Of course this is a generalization and any race can beat the other but it is harder for protoss to beat terran, terran to beat zerg and zerg to beat protoss.

Reasons: Zerg vs Terran
1) Brooding (against tanks and goliaths)
2) Parasite (detection)
3) Plague (OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!)
4) Lockdown is useless
5) Numbers (Zerg overwhelming terran forces)
6) Lukers (annihilate all ground forces)

Reasons: Terran vs Protoss
1) Lockdown (vs Carriers, Reavers, Scouts, Corsairs, Dragoons etc)
2) EMP shock wave (say goodbye to shields AND Magic)
3) Irridate (vs Zealots, Light and Dark Templars)
4) Firbats (demolishes Zealots and Dragoons)

Reasons: Protoss vs Zerg
1) Light and Dark Archons (Parasite is useless, brooding doesnt work)
2) Light Archons (high attack value, destroys zerglings, Hydralisks, Mutalisks)
3) Dark Archons (destroys almost any maic unit with feedback, freezes all zerg)
4) Light Templar (Psi storm on Hydralisks, Mutalisks)
5) Corsairs ( Scourge DIE)
6) Therefore Scouts and Carriers can destroy reamining air forces)
7) Unit value (A group of 24 Protoss ground units can wipe Zerg away)
8) Reaver (using a shuttle for drops, use Archons to freeze Zerg, then fire)

As is said before this is a generalization, but i fing the above to be generally true.

Of course, it looks that way. But if you play your game right, it all evens out, anyhow.
Sure, I find that the Terrans have many effects against Protoss forces, but if you take an experienced player, the Protoss could beat the Terrans very early on in the game, or just about any time.
The Terrans can also beat the Zerg, provided you have time to defend yourself from Zergling rushes.

Terran rape Zerg if they play their cards right. Siege Tanks, Nukes, Valkyries against Overlords, etc.

I find that you have been spending MANY MANY hours playing newbs, cuz maybe you are one.
The reasons are:
- no one uses broodlings that much because it cost too much energy.
- marines and medics micro(unit control) properly can rape zerglings and lurkers
- Who the hell would use iradiate with protoss? Plus you mainly go tanks and vultures against them, and later go goliaths. Emp helps, but isnt used much
- Goons can kill firebats easily
- There are no such things as light archons and light templars
- Feedback is rarely used
- No one uses scouts, they are too expensive
- Zerg are big in numbers and are very cheap, so they can why your 24 protoss units out easily.
- Based on your post, I dont think you have any idea what you are saying.

Thanx........... But i do actually. The thing to remember with starcraft, is that there are so so many different strategies. I've watched many games, played many games (irridate works against templars and zealots), inluding all boxer, oov, midas, draco etc. The thing i wrote above was just general idea (hence "basic").

I called 'light' templars/archons for other noobs who mite not know wat im talking bout. PS: feedback is one of the best spells/magic of the games, allows you 2 destroy/hurt any magical unit in the game, if you not using it, u not so clever.

When it comes to the PRO leagues, generaly this is what the "basic rule" is (this is based on other peoples opinion, and mine)
Terran = Protoss
Zerg > Protoss (Look at Julyzerg's zvp win:lose ratio)
Terran > Zerg (I am not sure about this, but Boxer's and NaDa's tvz are very good)
