Ever heard of 2001: A space odyssey?

and the relation to starcraft?

The Terran Wraith pilot is voiced like a character from 2001.

There are other voices in the game from movies. I can't remember all of them but I do recall that the voice of the transport pilot for the space marines is from Aliens. Even one of the lines "We're in the pipes, 5 by 5"? Something like that.

It's "In the bus, bye, bye, bye."

"In the pipe, five by five." – direct quote from Cpl. Ferro (the dropship pilot) in "Aliens"

There are several in-game quotes from that movie. Someone has claimed that every dropship pilot quote (except the 'joke' quotes) is from "Aliens", and this may be true. Personally I recommend renting "Aliens" and trying to capture all the quotes yourself, as it is an excellent movie in its own right.

Other "Aliens" quotes in "StarCraft":

"How do I get out of this chickens**t outfit, anyway?"

"I vote we frag this commander!"

by the way, you can google for the phrase: "in the pipe, five by five" for more information about it.

To clarify on the wraith pilot: his voice inflections and speech mannerisms are exactly like Mission Control in 2001 (during the Jupiter mission).

trivia: the wraith's comment/quote: "Everyone's gotta die some time, Red," is a direct quote of Sgt. Barnes in Platoon.
