Good stratigies for mutiplayer playing as Protoss.

I was playing today and noticed some straties i would like to post.

1. Protoss cannos: If you keep plyasing the dimond shoped objects, you can build a base althway to someone elses base, just make sure you have cannons all over, than the will get cannos shot at them from thier own base.

2.Wasp sworm: i nticed something someone did that wiped my whole base out in about 2 min. and i had cannons coveing the place, what they did was built about 10 protoss carriors, and put about 200 of the small moth looking things that creat two moths for one person space,in the carriors, move the carriors over the opponets base,(dont worry, it has pleanty defenve so it wont blow) once dirctly over the base, take the carrior and open it up reliseng the moth creaturs!

POST SOME OF YOU STRATIGIES!

Using carriers aggresively is a good strategy, but only if you have scouts to protect them. I am also a big fan of inching my way along with reavers and upgraded scarabs.

Dark templar drop. its lethal against Terran lol

Sorry to say but scouts < corsairs

reply

No offense but that strategy sucks. What kind of people are you playing?

reply

i load up on carriers and make a group with a few arbiters, slide in the back way of somebodys base, and whip some ass. i only do this when im playing on a team with other people who build ground offenses, though. love lurkers in zerg, too. those bitches are freaking sweet

You guys are pretty much total newbs at this game...

Brute force gets you no where in Starcraft.

Good strategies:

Light templars are a must, psionic storm is a must. A good psionic storm attack wipes out any forementioned force.

Mass Dragoons is a cheap tactic. But if you're in a war of attrition, that's a good way to win.

Mix dragoons with archons.

My fav strategy is couple of light templars for psionic storm, mass archons for the meat shield (but watch out for emp cannon), zealots (for damage) and corsairs for defense breaching. Oh and dragoons if you can.

they obviously don't play aggressively online... O.o

Does anybody of you guys ever heard of "PGT" or "OGN" or "MBCgame"?

Well, search for PGT,

go to teamliquid.net

search "gameplay of starcraft" in wikipedia

It's 2006 already, reading these whole bunch of posts really brings me back to 1999.

edit: I'm sorry if thats too harsh, but did you guys just play money maps all the time or dont touch your game for years at all?

Im toolazy to post links so in addition to the above, do the following:

youtube.com, search for "best" + "2005" + "starcraft", that was a magnificient vid

My favourite strategy is kinda hard to pull of (especially if your playing online) but if you can do it its kickass. What u do is make a little army of 8 archons and 2 dark archons and send em to the enemy base. Then have the archons attack and while theyre doing that the dark archons brainwash one of the enemys SCVs and/or Zerg builders (cant think of the actual name right now) and then run your newly acuired unit to your base and build enemy buildings for your armies. pretty sweet.

reply

That never works against a competent player.

The best thing to do is to use Corsairs (with disruption web) and Dragoons. It's simple, and it works.

protoss vs zerg master trick

once i was a zerg and ace really got me bad. i got like a large gropus of hidras guarding my base then i saw some dark templar coming my way i imidiatly call a few ovis when suddenly a loots of corsairs came. i was pretty burned the dark templar slice my hidras liek butter that day god damm those corsair killing my ovi liek little girls

Dragonboy1221 You don't even know the names of the *beep* units. Your are a complete noob and your strategies are by far the worst i have ever heard. *beep* man, you can't even spell.

Hey I've got a good cheat I just discovered. It only works when you're playing ladder though. You get your first 5 probes to destroy your nexus. If you do it quickly enough, the glitch will activate and you can never be beaten, even if all your buildings get destroyed again :)

A pretty good tactic for base defense (though it has its weaknesses like any strategy) is:

make a ton of dragoons (maybe 20-30) and put them in your front door, and tell them to hold. Hover an arbiter right over them. If anyone attacks, they will be met with massive dragoon fire, but they will not be able to fire back at the dragoons unless they have an observer nearby. This obviously works best against Zerg.

Dragonboy1221: Learn to f'ing type, and learn the f'ing names of the f'ing units. I'll cut you some slack if you are under the age of 10.
