Watch movie 'Aliens' (alien 2) and tell me that isnt Starcraft?

Seems to me 'Aliens' 1986 (2nd movie in Alien quadrilogy) was the inspiration for Starcraft.

Watch the movie. It's a kick-ass space sci-fi action movie. Even for today, it's still great movie. You have space marines with gauss rifles firing away at incoming alien infestations. Just replace the famous ALIENS we know with zerglings (they even look similar) and there you go.

Watch 'Aliens' then think of making a STARCRAFT movie like that, only way better, and you have a huge summer blockbuster that will open up a whole new trilogy opportunity with tons of merchandise opportunities.

WE COULD USE A GOOD STARCRAFT MOVIE, but made by James Cameron. if you give it to uwe boll or some other crap director, it will come out like a bad movie. it doesnt mean the MATERIAL is bad. give it to James Cameron to make it shine.

I would say that the Starcraft movie would be Alien vs. Predator. You have humans (terrans), aliens (zerg), and predators (protoss) all fighting each other.

Actually, the game Starcraft IS vaguely based on the movies Predator and the Alien series. Blizzard tried to buy the game rights, but they were already sold (hence the game "Alien versus Preadator"). So, Blizzard changed the Aliens to the Zerg, and the Predators to Protoss...

Funny, I heard they tried to buy rights for a warhammer 40k too.

But yeah, sci-fi is the world's biggest recycle bin.

I'd say the Zerg remind me more of the bugs in Starship Troopers than of the aliens in Aliens.

Starcraft is based off a lot of classic science fiction action movies/books. It also draws a lot from 'Starship troopers.'

You haven't noticed that a bunch of the lines used by the dropship in SC are the same as the transport pilot in Aliens yet?

Even the image of the dropship pilot looks and sounds just like the pilot in Aliens.

This is a great game BTW. I still play it every now and then. But I really can't wait for Starcraft 2 to be released. Whenever Blizzard gets their act together that is.

The marines use a few Aliens quotes as well. Also, I'd argue that the aliens look more like hydralisks than zerglings, but that's just me.
