What happened to nicky at the end? *Spoilers*

Ok. At the end this girl comes up to "Jim" and says hey baby. I don't know who that was but I want to know what happened to Nicky! Sarah never said crap about her in the beginning so...and I know probably no one is going to answer me so this is probably going to haunt me until I know...

SPOILER ALERT:

I think Nicky was the girl at the end. It looked to me like she was Sarah's first husband's girlfriend, and not his daughter. The four of them - both Sarah's husbands, her friend Cynthia, and Nicky were a gang of scammers, and Nicky was just playing the role of the handicapped step-daughter in this particular scheme to set Sarah up and get the money. This is my best guess.

Nicky was the dame who came into the house near the end of the movie and was necking with the guy who supposedly died in the plane crash. They were not brother and sister. They were scam artists.

I'm the writer and originator of this story. I based the screenplay on my stage play, SECOND TO DIE. However, in classic Hollywood form, less experienced writers were brought onto the project to rewrite my original screenplay and story - removing almost 100% of the important plot points and character arcs.

The girl who hugs the "Jim" character at the end is Nicky. In the stage play, and my screenplay version, Nicky enters the room in her wheelchair. The con artists are congratulating themselves on their success. Skooch is eating a plate of spaghetti. Suddenly, Nicki jumps out of her wheelchair and slams Skooch's face into the spaghetti. She begins berating her partners for mistakes they made during the con. We then discover that Nicky is actually the highly intelligent leader of the group.

All that juicy stuff was removed by the re-writers. May they never work in Hollywood again.

Doesn't surprise me. My wife and I saw this movie and it seemed fascinating for the first hour and then got strange...as though the ending was abruptly changed without any thought given to whether it would really work or not.

Nicky - the girl in the wheelchair - is the brains of the con, but all of that was taken out by writers that came after me. It's indecipherable now. The "Hey Baby" girl at the end is Nicky. This is what happens when too many cooks pee into the soup. --George Morgan

i think that the story is excellent. i am sure that the original that you wrote was even better. i saw a few inconsistencies at the end which no doubt can be attributed to a new writer coming on the project.

I’m very glad I came here, George. I just watched the movie and found it very confused, filled with holes. I was out off T the title credits, when I saw that FOUR writers were credited for the script—and they were 4 writers who comprised 2 separate writing teams! That means a second team was called in for a rewrite after the first team fucked it up. Your messages about your experience gives us outsiders a much better understanding of how completely stupid the entertainment industry can be. Thank you.
