The most authentic Yugoslavian war movie made by a foreigners.

Seriously, after seeing Savior, Welcome to Sarajevo, Hunting Party, Behind Enemy Lines... I have to say this movie comes closest to the pure chaos that was war in Croatia.

It paints a solid atmosphere that feels fittingly desperate as Croatia is breaking under the weight of the invasion, it portrays the language and letters correctly, though I did see one or two flags on tanks that werent exactly too authentic, with mostly wrong colors or order of colors. However, the dialect of Croats and Serbs was well spoken and written.

The movie is actually so authentic that at the moments its hard to watch. The first scenes in Vukovar were some of the scariest images of human evil and hate since Schindlers List.

The very first encounter with the Chetniks is really shocking and scary and the blank, foggy woods and towns create an eerie and creepy backdrop for such a tragic event.

If you will see one foreign movie about Yugoslav conflict, then most definatly pick this one. While some others aint bad, they are either biased (Saviour), not completly authentic (Welcome to Sarajevo) or completely wrong in tone (Behind Enemy Lines).
