I found the film highly amusing, is it me or did both of them seem to be pissed

I think Peter Cook was an Alcoholic by that point and on the other Derek and Clive recordings, Peter cook calls Dudley an 'Fackin Alcoholic' so I imagine so...

That would explain the figs and plums. When the "police" raid, doesn't one of them say something about hiding 'the Js'?

I'm guessing that at least some-one in the studio would've been doing that, but I also get a sense that they knew what Richard Branson was doing and guessed it was a hoax.
