Agreed. I dont know what this alluded-to sub-plot of the father being a pervert towards his daughter but I didnt like it. It was unnecessary and utterly stupid!

That was really, really creepy. And wrong.. it was so nasty and awkward. It's like the writer didn't know what he/she wanted to do with the storyline.

Yeah, i thought the murderer was the dad at the beginning, like wtf, he was totally pervy with christina

I'm, too sexy for this boards

I know the dad was so gross and I don't know why she put up with it, eww it makes me shudder just thinking of it. It was un-needed in the movie, it had nothing to do with what was happening.

I was glad to see this post to make sure I wasn't crazy. I found the father creepy and weird besides being a perv. I am watching the movie right now and so far I have to say that I don't like it that much.

yeah i did.
i don't see the point in them putting that in the movie..cause he had nothing to do with the murdering and all.

I think because she took over the roll as the mother, the father was starting to think of her more as a wife instead of a daughter... sick

The reason why the father was protrayed as a prevert, was so that people would think that he was the killer. It was done that way to throw suspicion off of Howie.

Exactly my point, I mean what did he do after all?

Grabbing her to stop her from going up there on her own, being concerned about her boyfriend, going into her room because he was worried about her friend who hadn't arrived at her place yet......
at that time we were supposed to believe that he was a creepy maniac, but now that we know he is not the killer, it all looks pretty okay.

I think it was done that way to make you think he was behind the killings. Perverted father = perverted mind = perverted killer. Get it?

yahhh the dad did.thats why i thought it was him

I am SO glad other people noticed this... (But who wouldn't, really??)

My roommate and I watched this movie just for giggles last night, and when it ended, we were both so confused. I'm sure the dad was made out to be a pervert just so viewers would suspect him as a killer, but that was terrible writing. It was a lazy way to throw us off.

The dad would repeatedly touch Christina and make comments (while touching her)--like, "Christina... <heavy breathing> You know, you look really pretty tonight." He also seemed very JEALOUS of her boyfriend--and not in a fatherly, protective way. THEN, when Christina woke up one night and decided to go up to the attic to check out some noises (and like anyone would actually do that alone at night when they're already creeped out)... She was just wearing her underwear and a short t-shirt. When her dad came out of his room and caught her climbing the ladder, instead of just saying, "Hey! What are you doing? Get down!"... He, of course, had to grab her stomach (under the shirt) and pull her down. (Along with a lingering close-up of her stomach/butt.)

I kept waiting for an explaination that the house was making him evil (a la "The Shining"), but it never came. The movie just kind of ended... Without even addressing this creepiness.

So many plotholes. What a dumb (but hilarious) movie. I rather enjoyed it, though definitely not in the way they were hoping.

Yeah the scene where C is climbling up the attic ladder and her dad catches her, he so totally gropes her ass. I was like 'WHAT?!'.

Maybe the actor playing the dad had a thing for young girls??

It made it hard for you to have sympathy for the father when he got hurt at the end. That's for sure.

Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not.
