THE ENDING DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!!!

Okay, I watched this movie because one, it was on the Disney channel, and two, it looked funny. I got some laughs from cute moments in the movie. But one thing that really fazed me was the thing when Bob and Anne (Brooke Shields) get married at the end. I did not sense any chemistry at all! Bob SAID he like Anne, but he didn't really act like it. It seemed like just a small crush. And as for Anne, she seemed like she didn't like him at all. And the "date" thing at the end wasn't really a date at all. Plus Bob and Anne didn't even know each other that well, yet Anne is ferociously defending Bob against Jaques?! And then, they get married?! I was like, "What the heck?!" They had no chemistry, whatsoever. It think it was only in the script for a happily-ever-after ending, and people seem to equate that with getting married. But couldn't it have also been happily-ever-after if they just permanently hired Bob as the Butler? He could take care of the kids, so the kids would be happy. The mom would be happy that the kids were happy. And Bob would be happy that he made people happy. Did they really have to get married, since Bob wasn't madly in love with Anne (but perhaps had a bit of a crush), and Anne didn't seem to have any attraction to Bob whatsoever? Agh. That just bugged me. Sorry for ranting. Anyone agree with me? Or disagree?

The romance was shortened to cut out what they felt was not necessary to the story. I guess we have to assume that she realized she had feelings for him and he did too, shrug, it can happen, I wouldn't dwell on it too much, it is afterall a romantic comedy.

i think you're right about the chemistry, other than that..it's just a movie.. and it wasn't like zomg good, but it was okay for cheap laughs ect.

Hi, I completely agree with you about the ending. It was all confusing because of the lack of chemistry between the actors who portray Bob and Anne. Brooke Shields tries very hard (as always) but her talent is very limited. That doesn't stop her from looking very beautiful though. Kat

They got married?
I have the dvd, but I don't think they get married in the end, have they cut that out from the dvd or am I forgetting things?

The movie ends with Bob, Anne and the kids having dinner with Mr. Butler as the butler.

There's no marriage, but they could've married.

Bob says "she stole my heart" when he was getting ready for the concert "date", and she willingly gave him the other ticket - yes, he definitely had more than a crush. She seemed to really like him in the end, too, though we didn't see her noticing him as much. They probably cut some out, and it is a kids movie, after all, and kids' movies don't usually go as much into the adult romance than other movies.

I totally agree with you. This movie was very cute, but the ending was seriously odd. I didn't sense any chemistry between the characters either and there was very little evidence they had enough of an attraction to actually get married. What's weird is that the movie was mainly about the adults (even though it's a kids/family movie) and one of the biggest parts of their characters was totally lacking.

Tomorrow's just your future yesterday!
