Because it was a repudiation of Democrats. And I'm not even a Republican.

When faced with a choice between an experienced Democrat in Hillary Clinton and a bloviating demagogue such as Donald Trump, Americans still chose Republican. It's pretty clear to me that any Republican would have defeated Clinton and most would have actually done so by a far larger margin.

Here's the thing. Democrats fully expected to win the presidency AND the Senate. They also thought they had an outside shot at winning the House. They accomplished none of those goals.

Further, if you look at the cumulative erosion of power for the Democrats over the past eight years, it was well-nigh a disaster for them. Think about it this way. In 2009, Democrats had the following:

-- The White House
-- The House of Representatives
-- The Senate
-- 31 Governorships

In 2017, the Democrats will have the following:

-- 17 governorships.

It says a great deal about the past eight years that, of the roughly 8,000 state and Federal elected positions, more than 1,100 Democratic seats have been lost to Republicans. That is a 12% swing. If you don't think that's a disaster for the Democratic Party, then you're smoking crack.

The hemorrhaging of Democrats in the down ballot races is particularly ominous, because that is where the party's future candidate are going to come. Which means there is a burgeoning leadership gap.

And what do the Democrats do as a response to the catastrophe of November 9? They nominate Keith Ellison, a far-left Minnesotan to be the next Chairman of the Democratic Party. That echo chamber must be airtight is all I have to say.

lets look at the facts:

Republicans now control the House, Senate and the W.H. and now the Supreme Court for decades.......Republicans also have the majority in the nation's governorship and state legislative branch. 31 Republican states to 18 Democrats and 1 independent.

I say that is a repudiation of Democrats and Obamacare.....but keep being in denial.

Trump didn't campaign to win the national popular vote. He campaigned to win the Electoral College just like the constitution demands and how every election has been for over 200 years........you can't change the rules to spin your defeat in something meaningless.

In football the team with the most points at the end of the game wins the game, if time of possession or which team has the most rushing yards is declare the winner instead of who has the most points then teams will play the game differently and have a different game plan.

You take out California which Hillary won by close to 3 million votes and Hillary doesn't win the national popular vote, not even close.....all those illegals in California helps the Democrats.

Trump would have won more states and votes if the MSM weren't so bias against him with over 95% negative press coverage. If the media would have done their job and be neutral on this and didn't report that this was over and Hillary had a 95% chance of winning well many voters would have comeout and voted but instead stayed home since the MSM with their bias propaganda spread that it was over for Trump before the votes were counted.
