What a cool frickin' movie

So I watched this on Shudder, and holy *beep* was it ever better than I was expecting.

The opening quarter of it or so I figured it was just another schlocky 70's horror movie. Lots of fake blood, bad acting, and shoe-string budget.

Then it hit a point where I realized what I was watching WAS all over the above, but created with obvious love and attention from a director who really wanted to make something his own. The props are cheap, but used with enough skill that it becomes otherworldly in the depths of the Carnival. I mean, who knew tinfoil made such a passable set-prop!

Loved it. Great movie. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but if you approach it in the same way you'd approach other dream-logic horror movies like Suspiria, you're all set for a surprisingly competent surrealist horror.

That ending shot by the way? Loved it. Made as much sense as the rest of the movie, but it was the perfect way to end this.
