I like the show but I must say that the end was dissapointing. Dar should reign after Zed had died and he should put everything in order. Not go to some heavenly empire with his family and leave the world in mess. People were waiting for Eldar's son to rule and now sorry guys, he has gone, have Tao and Arina instead.
And Dar has taken Sharak with him, so the Sorceress will never see him again. The two should reunite in the end.
Curupira is not saved. There is no Beastmaster to stop Yara doing bad things (maybe Manaka, Curupira's sister?)

The episode was The trial, season 3. Manaka accused Dar of preferring humans to animals and thus not acting according to Curupira's last wish - to protect the animals. She wanted to send him to The land of eternal darkness or something like that but eventually she let him go free. This episode itself was not one the best ones, it was full of archive footages about Dar's past adventures.

It was recently on our TV, so I didn't watch it on a website but I found this episode on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_cc8G6yR5I&feature=relmfu . You can find some other episodes there as well. But this one is not as good as the others, it is made of flashbacks in major part. However, Manaka is played by Isla Fisher, she became quite known later.

Well, I don't know how much you are familiar with season 3, so I put it broadly.
In the first episode, Dar learns that his Sula parents (father = previous beastmaster) were not his biological parents, he was just brought up by them. His real father was King Eldar who was defeated by Zed and Balcifer when Dar was a baby. Before he died, Eldar had cast a spell on Dar's mother and older children in order to protect them. They were transformed to various animals. When Dar is adult, he must find them (he is not able to talk to them) and put them to the crystal arch. After finding all five of them, Dar can defeat Balcifer.
One of Dar's brothers was transformed to a goat. This brother is most tricky to deal with. He repeatedly escapes Dar. One day, Zed's sister (I forgot her name) catches him. She is as evil as Zed, worships Balcifer and she uses black magic. She transforms the goat brother back to a young man. She confuses him and points out that it is not just that Dar should be Eldar's heir when he (the goat brother) is firstborn. He cooperates with her and starts to hate Dar. He even tries to kill him. Dar explains him that he should be put into the arch in his goat form in order to defeat Balcifer but the goat brother attacks him and says that he hates being a goat. Dar promises that he will do his best to finish his task and thus transform all of his family back to people. Finally, he is involuntarily back in his goat form and put in the arch.
So, in the last episode Dar says to his brother that the promise was fulfilled but clearly the brother is still angry.

Yeah, I watched it recently and felt quite nostalgic. It was a good show. Even the villains - like Zed and Voden - were lovable.
