Does Anyone Have a VHS tape?

I know this movie was probably silly but I do recall when it was being shown on tv right before 12-31-99. I missed it and I do think about it every now and then. Did anyone record it on their VCR? Contact me at [email protected] and I'd love to get a hold of a copy. Thanks.

I taped it when it aired. I keep meaning to watch it again but just haven't done it. It was aired on November 21, 1999 and that's confirmed on this page under "release dates." It was a weak movie and I taped it only for nostagic purposes.

I picked this up on DVD. There's a shop here in France that sells end-of-line stuff and things so damn weird/stupid you wonder who on earth actually made them. I saw the DVD (titled "Countdown to destruction!"), looked it up on IMDb on my mobile, and figured it was a suitably silly thing to watch when I didn't want to have a deep film or one with subtitles. You know, sometimes the brain wants a rest.
Besides, it was €0,50 which is hardly breaking the bank.
Just started watching it. I don't expect much but I hope it won't be quite as patronising as the average SyFy movie.

Okay, the plot was dumb, but I suspect this whole thing was a movie played serious with a tongue-in-cheek script. You can tick off the checklist of tropes - Y2K countdown beeps every second? Uh-hu! Massive screen that people stare at like it's going to start asking for a game of tic-tac-toe? Yu-hu! Teenage daughter who you know is gonna be trouble. Yup to that one. Any more would probably be spoilers, but there's plenty more.
This classy bit of dialogue from the radio DJ ought to have been a tip-off to anybody who took this seriously: "They're about to celebrate the new millenium in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Sixty-three million tuna are about to have the biggest party in history!"
So all in all it was fifty centimes well spent! (^_^)

Don't forget to make sure the tape is Y2K compliant!
