Your favourite mission?

What is your favourite mission on the original Medal of Honor computer game?

Mine has to be the beginning of the third campaign when you're undercover in the German Merchant Marine Navy. The undercover missions are my personal favourites as you get an opportunity to see how the enemy forces work.

The enlisted men (who look rather well-dressed for enlisted men, perhaps they're NCOs) used to really crack me up with their off-the-cuff remarks such as:

"What unit are you from? *you show them your ID* "SORRY SIR!" <(really loudly)

"Who are you?" (in a worried tone) *you show them your ID* "It won't happen again." The best thing to do when this happens is to pull out your pistol and shoot them in the head and say: "You're damn right it won't happen again!"

I also loved when they demanded to see identification and you showed them the wrong credentials only for them to take a look at them and then jerk their head up suddenly upon realising you're an enemy. (This only happens with the guards near the engine room which you have to disable if I remember rightly)

One thing that always baffled me is how the officers, who couldn't be fooled by your identification, used to blurt out: "You're Jimmy Patterson!" How on earth did they know his real name? He was a espionage agent, not a really famous soldier.

What are your favourite levels/missions?

I liked the undercover missions as well. It is one of the elements I miss from the old games. The new games are too Call of Duty-like. I like Call of Duty, but I liked Medal of Honor because of the game's mix of action and espionage.

Anyway, some of my favorite levels are:

The first part of the first mission, just because it feels so cool running in and killing the Nazis for the first time.

The 2nd part of the 1st mission because it was cool going through the town and confronting the gestapo.

The 1st part of the 2nd mission, simply because the disguise is so glitchly in it, it's fun to play around with the guards there.

2nd part of mission 2, because it's the first level that feels like a real spying expierience.

1st part of mission 3, because of what you said.

Final part of mission 3, because it's cool seeing the inside of the sub.

The 2nd and 3rd parts of mission 4 because just seeing the underground bunkers is awesome.

The final part of mission 5 because I like snow missions.

The parts of mission 6 in the mines because those were really unique missions.

The final part of the final mission, because it's awesome getting payback at the Nazis by dropping their own bomb on them.

Ah, great game.

Yeah I really loved the disguise missions in all the Medal of Honors. It's a shame they phased them out though. (In Frontline you get your cover involuntarily blown before you even get to do anything).

I think all of the guys who ask for your papers are either Officers or [Feld]gendarmerie (military police), so they're uniforms would look a little spiffier than the average joe rifleman.
