Different ending?

I saw this movie while living in Australia. I seem to remember an additional scene at the end of the movie where it showed Christian Bale in modern times surrounded by children with the Leanne Rimes song "I need you" playing. It really made a positive impression on my son who was 11 at the time. That scene is not on the dvd. Anyone remember seeing this movie with that scene?
