it to get interesting. perhaps i thought it might be like the Johnny Depp version plotwise.

This is based on the short story by Washington Irving. It's nothing like the Johnny Depp version.

a bit boring it stayed true to the material but too slow and boring.

The one with Johnny Depp(which came out into the theatres around the time this had been on TV for the first time), was totally different from the original story.

This one is far more faithful to the original plot.
