Good or not? characters mentioned?

in this order:

no, the movie is crap compared with the orginal due to serious plot holes with the first and poor computer graphics for the dragon.

no, as I said just now, the storyline is not matching to Dragonheart because Draco was supposed to be the last dragon, and they went around and changed that.

finally, no, the characters from the orignal are not in it, though they are mentioned from time to time as being instrumental in the present knowledge of dragon lore.

hope that helps. of course, this is just my opinion (as well as the opinion of several hundred other fans of the original movie) but it doesn't mean you might not enjoy if you watch it for yourself. if you do, let me know how that goes. also, sorry if I ranted, but I watched this expecting a lot better of it than I heard from this site, and was sorely disappointed!

I just watched the first one today then watched this one. And it is unfortunate for the second one that the first one is still very fresh in my mind.

This one has terrible acting, dodgy visual effects for the dragon and not to mention some laughable kung fu action scenes in it that totally look out of place for the film.

The original characters are briefly mentioned in the beginning but they are aren't in it and none of the original actors are back - which is a good thing for them in my opinion.

I really tried to enjoy this but I couldn't help laughing at how ridiculous most of the scenes were and its attempt to make me care about what was going to happen.

But you should see it for yourself since everyone's opinion differs.
