Wow... SUCKITY!

This was one of the STUPIDEST sequals I have EVER seen! and I've seen some bad ones, man! For God's sake, there can't be another god damn dragon because then the constilation Draco wouldn't be completed when the dragon Draco dies!!! It doesn't make any sense!!! Stupid movie, so stupid. Not to mention there was ANTOHER DRAGON in the movie, how the hell?! It didn't make any sense. I totally loved Dragonheart, Hollywood sucks.

i agree. i loved dragonheart and this sequel was just an insult to its memory. the dragon looked fake compared to the last one and the evil guy had alomst no motive. it was almost as if they realized that he had no motive until the last day of filming and just came up with it on the spot. and the scene with Geoff "dying" didnt make any sense. he didnt even bleed AT ALL!!!

I don't think this movie was as good as the first, but I do think there were some redeaming things about it. For one, I really like Chris Masterson and I think he did a good job in this film. I agree that the CGI effects were less than stellar. I have two sons, 7&10 and they really enjoyed this film.

reply

Of course they would! At that age you don't really start to learn how to appriciate what a good movie is until you're at least 16. I should know. It happened with me.

reply

haha GeraldBazillion very funny. I'm 13 and I know how to appreciate a good film. You should know? Haven't you thought that everyone isn't like you? I agree this movie had nothing on the first but it wasn't that bad. It was apparent that they had a sorta low budget but they did fine. Thats something that knda bugs me about movies. If it has a low budget everyone hates it because it wasn't HUGE!

reply

I loved this movie, I thought it was a great movie. It wasn't the same as the first, but I thought they did a great job.

reply

Terrible acting...terrible effects.........NO PLOT......Put themall in a bowl and mix...........Voila.......you got a movie that totally sucks......

Pure Genius!!

reply

i agree-

the film had way to many plot holes and many thing just did not make sense. Was ok for little kids to watch, but for most of us who can understand and interpret a good movie, this was a pretty dumb sequal.

i made a thread for people who are interested to know which characters are mentioned from the first film in this movie, so that way they dont have to sit through it to find out. Unfortunatley even the main characters only get a very brief mention.

I liked the first one better. you know: The CGI on the first in an earlier state then on the second film, but the dragon in Dragonherat 2 looked much less believable than draco!!! And yeah no known actor. Matterson did okay, but well no Dennis Quaid and honestly the bad guys: nex to David Thewlis, Harry Van Gorkum was an insult!!!

reply

I must admit that yes, the movie was dissapointing. Please remember, not all dragons are a dull rusty brown color. Drake was a young Dragon, for all we know Draco used to be just as colorful in his youth. Though I will admit the movie was more for little kids and the ending fight was short and lame. I do not consider it the official sequel to Dragonheart. My version of Dragonheart 2 would have involved the discovery of Drake and for more Dragons to be fould alive. In the end, it would be happy all around. The dragons would be back and start up a whole new race. But no. Drake is the last, he will forever be without his dragon kin. The movie had a few good points. But the points were obvious: Bringing the chinese into this was a mistake. Lets face it. Leave the martial arts to Jackie Chan and the whole "evil dragon prophesy" would ft better into some anime or cartoon plot. or lord of the rings. I have more to say, but alas, I am out of time. Farewell.

and what the Hell was with that guy being a dragon and everything? and they made a huge deal about dragons that can breathe ice, but then when drake actually does breathe ice, the ppl are like "oh, well, what do you know?"
I'd be ****ing trippin' out! and i might have, if this movie wasn't total bull****.

Maybe I shouldn't be so quick to judge (since I haven't seen the first Dragonheart), but I liked this movie. As for the guy turning in a dragon, according to Lian (or however you spell that chick's name) and Osric, all the "virtuous dragons" took Gryphon's heart and cursed the dragon to live out his life "in the form he hated most...as a man." Then they took the evil dragon's heart and placed it in the red box-like thing to give to the Chinese emperor. Unfortuneately the evil dragon frightened the emperor so much that the emperor couldn't tell the difference between good and bad.

As for this movie being a sequel. I don't believe it should be considered one. Last time I checked it was called "Dragonheart: A New Beginning" not "Dragonheart 2" I would call it a side story. Yes I know that it was made after the first Dragonheart movie and it has information trying to link this one to the first. However, the information it gives at the beginning is to help you understand what is going on with the rest of the movie. It's nice that they brought in Sir Bowen, the knight that killed Draco I believe.

The whole breathing ice thing is supposed to be "an ancient dragon secret that few could master" and when Drake was able to do just that I'm thinking that people were just ****ing stunned. I mean come on a man they thought was kind in heart turns into a dragon and decides to make humankind his sevants. Then the fight scene begins. Everyone's frigging scared that they will become roasted or pancakes. When Drake finishes the battle scene with his ice breathe. The evil dragon falls spraying ice missiles all over the place. People have to duck or they would have become much like Geoff. Drake can't share his heart that many times(or could he? I don't know).

Anyway enough of my yapping. I just want to say that if you think a movie sucks maybe you should watch it again and think what the story is saying in between the lines.

reply

Lol, no matter how many times I watch it, I still don't see anything between hte lines here.

It can't live up to the first one, trust me on that.

And sequels don't have to be called "WHATEVER 2" it could be a sequel and not have TWO in it. It took place after Draco's death, what'shisface the knight found his son's egg, then it goes on with the story of his son. Looked like a sequel to me personally.

I just think it was poorly thrown together. I haven't seen it for a while, but I would've taken a different angle.

But hey, that's just my taste in movies. After watching the first one the second one was just depressing.

reply

The evil dragon falls spraying ice missiles all over the place.

more like cheap polystyrene foam...that for me was the worst part of the movie.

reply

I wonder if now, at 20 years of age, you still think that you knew what a good movie is at 13. I doubt it. If you didn't change your perspective in these past 7 years, then there's something wrong with you.

reply

Yes, terrible movie with terrible plot. And why the heck did they bring in material arts?

I hated it so much! This is truly the worst sequel ever. One of the few movies I rated 1 (and just because I couldn't rate it 0)
Seriously, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry... (I ended up swearing)
I loved Dragonheart and then I saw this atrocity. I wish I could erase it from my mind.

It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilites.

Thank you for saying this, not i really won't go and finish the movie

reply

Frankly, I preferred this film to the first one. It really isn't a sequel; they are stand-alone films and really share nothing but the title.
I was seriously disappointed with the first Dragonheart. This film has a better plot, and something the other did not have: a sense of humor.
