This is an actual quote from this movie, and it speaks for itself. It's one thing to wax philosophical (lite) about various inconsequential issues for no reason whatsoever, but religious intolerance and pathetic generalisation is the icing on the cake.
I can't imagine what the screenwriters were thinking here.
Maybe they thought it would be a funny joke?

No one hearing that joke is going to care if the premise is true. If you said "postal workers" instead of "muslims" and interchanged terrorism with work place shootings - still be funny.
Now I agree the interchangeability of a good joke's targets to fit within the same joke structure should be handled with tact, but thats usually where the intent and context of a joke come in.
The intent of the joke is clear. Its absurd to say you can joke about these things X, but not religion Y *within situations of clear intent*. Its not absolute in either way, I love the film the Hebrew Hammer, its a hilarious film, but I can't stand the man show tv show. Its not the jokes being predominantly toward a male audience, but the heavy handedness of the man show jokes. Same with the Blue collar comedy thats on comedy central now. I can enjoy segments of the show but a whole hour is overkill.
This film isn't one of those times it steps over the line. Hell, South park isn't.
that joke was (intended to be) not funny , they needed to show how lame the character is so they made him tell a lame joke like that . abvious . while ur watching through the movie u see him tell that joke and then realise that the guy is a big loser and u get more concerned about finding out who the mystery girl is cuz that loser will probably fail .
It's a damn joke! People are way to uptight sometimes. We all know that not all muslims are terroists, and people don't become terroists because they wax their pubic hairs. It's just a broad generalization that was meant to be viewed as just racial or religious humor and not a statement.
