Any chance they'll make a new WW series?

I know they covered the basic evolution of life from the paleozoic to the ice age on in the various series, but do you think they might make a new series which expands on what we got so far?

I for one would love to see more dinosaurs, monsters or beasts.

That question has been bugging me too for a while. Which was the last series we got... Walking with Monsters... in 2005. Have they stopped producing these things or what? CGI is progressing to evolve rapidly these days, but no new Walking with... series glares at us now. It's a shame, considering how much time they had to at least get a basic idea of a new show. Alas, nothing.

And if, by some miracle, a new series of Walking with... begins production, I sure do hope they'll avoid adding in stupid human hosts and rushed episodes with no actual story.

Very well said indeed.

Maybe they are really done after all, and focus on related TV series like Prehistoric Park (garbage) and Primeval (moderately good) only.

As a fan of the whole series (including the spin-offs) and someone who loves the subject, i'd love them to make a new series. In my view, the series received a lot of unnecessary criticism in the early days, largely from boring armchair academics or writers who can do nothing but point to the idea of presenting speculation as fact. They're probably the same people who worry that more students are not studying sciences and engineering. On the other hand, a lot of paleontologists, scientists and students love paleoart, the idea of an onscreen portrayal of their work and discoveries. I have to say though that it's not easy for a television company to dish out 10 million pounds for a project like this, and documentaries, unlike movies, make little money even when well-received...

There are plenty of dead things they can still do. For example, i have yet see an potrayal the strange flora and fauna of cenozoic Australia. I didn't think they were going to do megalodon until i saw Sea Monsters, or the Devonian Dunkleosteus for that matter. A portrayal of the gigantic flying bird Argentavis magnificens would be awesome. Also, some more of the two South American giants Argentinasaurus and Giganotosaurus, though i think Spinosaurus (of Jurassic Park fame) is a good contender for the largest carnivorous dinosaur. As for the paleozoic, WWM was so short that there's a lot more they could do. For example, i wanted to see more of the end-permian extinction event.....I'm sure the fans here could post a lot more examples...

Yeah, I've seen lists of story suggestions and there's indeed so much they can still do.
The question of course is: will there be a large enough audience? Us prehistory buffs and paleontologists would no doubt watch it, but hwo about "regular people"?

Still, I hope they at least give it a try. If there's room for crap like Prehistoric Park there should be some for more WW series.

Only time will tell though...

Looking back at WWD's initial success, I think so.

They can make shows about everything these days, from the destruction of trailers to people shoving up their arms a cow's *ss. I bet there are at least five shows running at the same time about big machines or animal police. If they can produce multiple series about one single thing, I assume there's a chance for WW to return. If not, however, I'm gonna get upset.

just saw a commercial on the discover channel that said theyre adding onto the original walking with dinosaurs. it was a very short commercial, and i cant find anything about it online, but its re-premeres on March 23rd, and I think its on at 9. Its called Walking With Dinosaurs: The New Chapter. They said it will have updated CGI, and a new chapter added. Seems pretty cool to me

I suppose we won't see any BBC "dinomentary" programs for a while as series creator Tim Haines is busy doing fiction. (Primeval)
