The mysterious 3rd series - Holy Grail Of Comedy ?

If you do your searching correctly you'll learn that there was a 3rd series written by John Morten which took our Mr Mallard to the US....but mysteriously this was rejected by the BBC.

Stands to reason then that the scripts/ideas must exist and it is not then inconceivable that we could see Roy return at some stage

As interesting news as that is, and as die-hard a fan of PLU as I am, I really am not holding my breath.

If the Beeb won't issue series 2 (even though it now features the new Dr. Who David Tennant in one of its episodes) then we have zero chance of seing a Series Three be made. I'm surprised the money-grabbing ****ers haven't jumped on Langham's and Tennant's new found fame and glory and released S2 in what could be it's last ever chance of cashing in on the cast's success.

RE: The US - there is a film rather a lot in the spirit of PLU, called THE BIG TEASE, which features Langham in more or less Roy Mallard character. Perhaps the BBC took the idea, or sold it, or whatever, and threw the third series away.

Don't get me wrong, though, if this is true, then I wouldn't mind a series 3.

I just want the bloody second one that already exists!!!!!

the idea for a third series (people like U.S) was scraped because a second series of the office seemed like a better choice st the time.
i have only seen the first tv series, which is hillarious! i saw one episode from series two (the vicar), as the role of the vicar is played by a friends father, something Fenton, i forget. thats fuuny.
its all funny really.

In view of what Chris Langham was prosecuted for, I think it is highly unlikely that there is going to be much action with his material. At least in the UK.

If you don't know what I am referring to just google it.

Sadly - His career is just about over.

It's funny how people like Langham and Polanski wind up getting treated so differently by the public and by their peers...

I wonder if series three at least partly would have been the scripts from the radio series.

So perhaps: The Farmer, The Headmaster, The Doctor, The Hotel Manager, The Ski Rep, and the Christmas Panto.
