First showing in 1986, right?

In 1986, I was five. I remember this soap opera clearer than anything lived during those days. Ergo, I recall how big a deal the ending was. However, my mom and my grandmother are adamant this soap was first shown in the last seventies or early eighties. Does anyone know if this is true?

I am nobody's little weasel.

It had to be 1986 because I remember several scenes vividly. The scene with the lawn mower and the pool. The scene of the plane "crash". The revelation of Catalina Creel's missing eye. The opening credits with the wolves and that beautiful song. I could go on. It was one of the most memorable novelas in my childhood. I too was about your age when this came out.

Just look at the visual style and the hairdos and everything (even the look of the city). It's clearly mid-80s (86 is right)

IT was in 1986, near the end of the year (hence why at some point we see xmas trees and ornaments) and it ended in June 1987. The end was so big a deal that after it was broadcasted on a Friday (as usual with soap operas in Mexico) the final chapters were shown once again in the afternoon on the following day (saturday). I remember all this because I was 12 years old in 1987 and I saw the novela and both broadcasts of the ending.
