Do you realise that... [SPOILER]

At the very end of the movie when Malena thanks the boy, it is actually the first, last, and only time she has ever had any contact with him! After about two hours (if you have the uncut edition), one comes to realise than throughout the movie Malena hasn't even looked at the boy despite him being so heavily invested (and sometimes involved) in her life. The beauty of this movie is limitless, and that's why for 13 years it has remained my all time favourite film despite me watching at least 80-90 ones a year.
